Battle of Grootscher Marshes: The skirmish that decided the fate of Marienburg and the former Imperial Duchy of Westerland. The Imperial Army were defeated by the Marienburg Militia, who, aided by the Sea Elf residents of the city, lured the Imperial Army into quicksand. The Imperials fell back in disarray, and Emperor Wilhelm decided that "the damned wasteland" wasn't worth his time.
